Frequently Asked Questions
-
Our Developmental Readiness Screening provides a snapshot of your child’s current strengths and areas where additional support may be helpful. We look at skills such as communication, play, social interaction, emotional regulation, independence, behavior, and participation in learning environments. Families receive clear feedback and individualized recommendations for next steps. This is a developmental screening, not a diagnostic evaluation.
-
No. Bloom does not provide traditional ABA therapy services. Our focus is on parent education and coaching, developmental support, school collaboration, and practical strategies that help caregivers and the other adults in a child’s life better understand and support them.
Our BCBAs use their behavior-analytic training and experience alongside our knowledge of autism, ADHD, development, and neurodiversity to help families understand the why behind behavior and determine what supports or skills may be helpful.
If your child would benefit from ABA therapy or another ongoing therapeutic service, we’re happy to help you understand your options and connect you with appropriate providers.
-
No. Bloom does not provide formal diagnoses. However, our screenings and consultations can help identify developmental patterns, strengths, and areas of concern that may warrant further evaluation. When appropriate, we can help you understand what type of evaluation may be helpful and where to go next.
-
Yes. We can review existing school documents and data, help you prepare for meetings, attend IEP or other school meetings with you, and help you understand the recommendations being made for your child. Our goal is to help you feel informed and confident while collaborating with your child’s school team.
-
Yes, we remain actively involved until solutions are fully operational and staff are confident.
-
Yes, when the school or program permits outside observations. An observation can help us better understand what your child’s day actually looks like, including environmental demands, transitions, peer interactions, classroom expectations, and what may be contributing to behavioral or regulation concerns. We can then use that information to make more individualized recommendations.
-
Yes. With caregiver permission, we can collaborate with teachers, therapists, administrators, and other members of your child’s team. Depending on your needs, this may include consultation, observations, reviewing behavior supports, discussing strategies, or helping everyone work toward more consistent goals across environments.
-
Absolutely. We look beyond simply trying to stop a behavior and work to understand why the behavior may be happening and what skills or supports are missing underneath it. Support may include observations, data review, recommendations for accommodations or strategies, FBA/BIP review, parent coaching, and collaboration with the school team.
